TASAKI, a Japanese jewelry brand, has closed its flagship store in Beijing's China World Mall.

The flagship store of the high-end Japanese jewelry brand TASAKI, located in Beijing's China World Mall, has recently closed. Currently, the two-story store is locked, the logo has been removed, and the interior is largely empty.

It is understood that the TASAKI China World Mall store opened in June 2012, marking the brand's first flagship store in Beijing. At the time of its opening, then-CEO Juichi Tajima stated that the nearly 200-square-meter store would launch the latest products simultaneously with the flagship store in Tokyo's Ginza district, demonstrating the brand's high regard for the Chinese market at the time.

Currently, TASAKI only has two stores remaining in Beijing: one in Wangfujing Central and the other in Beijing SKP.

Public information shows that TASAKI was founded in 1954, with its core business being the integrated operation of pearl farming, processing, and sales. In May 2010, TASAKI opened a store on Huaihai Road in Shanghai, officially beginning its expansion in the Chinese market. By the end of 2024, TASAKI had over 100 stores worldwide, including approximately 33 in mainland China.

In terms of product pricing, TASAKI has established a mid-to-high-end positioning. According to the brand's official WeChat mini-program, entry-level products are priced between approximately 7,000 and 20,000 yuan, classic best-selling models are mainly concentrated in the 20,000 to 40,000 yuan range, and high-end series range from 60,000 to 200,000 yuan.

At the end of 2024, FountainVest Partners completed its acquisition of TASAKI for approximately 100 billion yen (approximately 4.857 billion yuan). In March 2026, the brand appointed former Chanel Japan President Richard Collasse as Global CEO, former CEO Juichi Tajima became Chairman, and former Qeelin executive Matthew Bai was responsible for the Asian market.
